Gran Turismo is the best grand tour racing series to hit videogames, period. This is the first edition of the game which came out on the Playstation. With 11 unique tracks and a detailed licensing and gradation system, this game will give you a run for your money. In arcade mode you can jump into any of the tracks and play, but in tour mode you will have to complete certain qualifying objectives to be able to move up in the game.
Graphics-wise, Gran Turismo shows it's age in being a first generation PS1 title. However, it makes up for these shortcomings in it's engaging gameplay and in-game mechanics. For anyone who is a fan of racing games, if you haven't played Gran Turismo you MUST check it out!
