The game that started it all, EA's original Need For Speed. This game was a port from the 3D0 version of Need For Speed with some new additions such as split screen racing and some physics modifications to give the game a more realistic feel.

The game features some of the best cars anyone could have envisioned in the 1990's. You've got the Ferrari Testarossa, Lamborghini Diablo, Porsche 959, Dodge Viper, Chevy Corvette, Mazda RX7, Toyota Supra and Acura NSX. A very good selection of cars with six exciting tracks to race on.

Ofcourse, you should never make the mistake of comparing this title to current generation racing games. The graphics are not really pretty by any standards, even for the time this game was released in. What made this game and the next one in the NFS series a killer title was the realistic physics handling which added a real 'racing' feel to the entire game, apart from the excellent selection of cars, that is : ).

However, it's truly a pleasure to see where it all started with the original 'The Need For Speed', a pretty rare title these days and an excellent upload by Mushindo.
