RubenPereira-007 rates this game: 5/5Persona 3 Portable is the PSP version of the PS2 game Persona 3. While players can get the new Beginner and Maniac modes, a female protagonist and a bunch more enhances, they will get ZERO animated cutscenes from Persona 3 or Persona 3 FES. (The Answer chapter was also removed.)
atoxique rates this game: 4/5Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable is a port of Persona 3 FES to the PSP. It also adds the option to play as a female character, which changes many dialogue options and the user interface from blue to pink. However, because the UMD discs not having enough space, some of the content (most notably the cutscences and The Answer, known as Episode Aegis in the Japanese release) had to be cut from this version of the game.
In Persona 3 Portable, you join a group known as the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, known as SEES for short, a group dedicated to investigating and putting an end to the Dark Hour, a time period hidden between one day and the next. During the Dark Hour, things stop working and ordinary people turn into coffins. However, you and the rest of SEES are able to experience the Dark Hour because you have the ability known as Persona, which allows you to explore a labyrinthine known as Tartarus, a procedurally generated dungeon where you fight demons known as Shadows.
But that is not all. When it is not the Dark Hour, you are an average high school student, and you do average teenager things such as attending classes, studying for exams, levelling up your Academics, Courage and Charm, going to shops, and making friends (called Social Links) which help you level up your Personas.
ShadowOblivion32 rates this game: 5/5Persona 3 Portable is the remake of the original P3, or more accurately, the "Journey" portion of P3FES.
Things from the original game are still there, like S.Links, Persona Fusing, Tartarus- all here, along with new features such as direct teammate control, guarding, costumes, and an option to play as a female.
This game still has flaws, though. The FMV anime cutscenes has been changed to CG animation or plain conversations, which is a shame. The "Answer" portion is also unavailable.
If you're a fan of the Shin Megaten series, or love the original game, or just want to look for a good RPG to play, then, by all means, play this game.
ERDRICK rates this game: 5/5Best RPG for PSP. Atlus take out some outside Tartarus 3D exploration, BUT game loads way faster than PS2 versions. And P4 battle system is always nice. Impossible not fall in love with FeMC.
